I have 25 years’ experience of providing training for trustees and senior charity executives. My training is designed to empower trustees, directors and committee members with the knowledge they need and to share practical experience so that they can carry out their role more effectively.

I can deliver trustee training sessions in person or online on a range of topics including:

• Recruiting and retaining good trustees

I have done the following training work:

• Trustee training and ‘train the trainers’ training for a federated charity group with 500+ regional and local charities. Through this 800+ trustees have been trained on their roles and responsibilities
• Monthly trustee induction training for Getting on Board
• Trustee training for local, regional and national charities such as: NHS charities, academy trust boards, independent schools, animal welfare organisations, health charities and grant-makers.

I provide Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training and board support to charities and other voluntary sector organisations. My mission is to support every organisation I work with on their EDI journey so that they can deliver their mission and vision with even greater impact.

EDI training and board support work includes:

• Chairing the EDI panel discussion at the Charity Law Association Annual Governance Conference 2021
• Being a member of the EDI panel discussion at the Independent School Bursar’s Association Annual Conference 2021
• Delivering EDI training for Northumberland Cricket Board directors, staff and coaches
• Leading on Northumberland Cricket Board’s diversity and inclusion plans
• Providing a facilitated session on ‘Why EDI Matters’ to an umbrella debt relief charity
• Supporting charity trustees and NfP boards to review leadership, governance and organisational culture

I provide CPD training for lawyers and other professionals on charity law and governance issues. CPD training providers I have worked with include CLT, MBL, For Legal, The Law Society In-house Lawyers Group, Kent Law Society, Liverpool Law Society, STEP (regional groups) and the UK200 Group. My training imparts technical knowledge as well as practical experience so that charity advisors can provide practical solution-focussed advice.
